My love affair with magic began in childhood, watching powerful, independent women weave wonder on screen. I was mesmerized. I dreamed of becoming one of those enchanting figures myself, and that dream became the engine of my entire career.
Houston has a particular quality that I find genuinely energizing as a performer. It’s a city of extraordinary scale and diversity — every event room in this city can feel like it contains an entire world. Performing for Houston audiences has taught me to be more flexible, more responsive, and more genuinely present, because the people here come from everywhere and expect to be surprised by something real. A half-hearted trick doesn’t land in Houston. A genuinely astonishing one stays with people for years.
The path of a female magician has required persistence. I have faced moments of underestimation and dismissal throughout my career — times when my success was attributed to the novelty of being a woman in the field rather than to the craft I’ve spent my life developing.
